For many people, especially those running their own business, the office can sometimes be like your second home!

With this in mind, if you are looking at new office furniture then you need to think carefully on planning your space to ensure you create the best working environment possible.

When searching for the right company to give your office the facelift it needs, try and choose a company that either comes recommended for their quality of furniture and their service too as a company with plenty of customer feedback is always going to be the best one to work with.

There is a great selection of new office furniture online so it gives you the opportunity to have a look and browse through the different types of furniture available, the different colours available and you also may even pick up some ideas on how to lay out your furniture too to create a great working environment.

When choosing your new office furniture, remember to take into account things like how comfortable and supportive the chairs should be to ensure everyone is comfortable especially as they will be spending many hours in them each day.

If you company is fairly small right now but you are hoping to increase the number of people working in the office then you need to take this into account when choosing your desks/workstations so you can allow for this.

First impressions certainly count when any visitors come to your office so make sure if you have a reception area that you keep it simple and minimalistic as this can have an impact on how people perceive your business. Seating is important in the reception area too but hopefully your visitors won’t be kept waiting too long!

So take the time in choosing the right furniture for your office as new office furniture can help make a happy office environment!

We find ourselves in what is being called an ‘austerity economy’, the government is cutting public spending while increasing the amount of money that is being drawn from the public in the form of taxes. And that’s a fine economic model, obviously cutting spending while increasing income is the very definition of getting richer so how can you apply this to your fleet?

If your company owns its own vehicles then obviously they’re liable for maintenance, upgrades and replacements, fuel, insurance, taxes, everything. That’s a high price to keep your employees on the road.

But you need to keep your sales representatives, agents and staff on the road so that’s unavoidable, right?

Well, not if you look into car leasing and contract hire options.

Contract hire allows you to rent a car where your monthly premiums remain unchanged for the rental period. The loss of residual value is borne by the rental company and not by you. Because issues such as insurance and maintenance are all taken care of you have a predictable cost making budgeting simpler and time consuming factors such as reselling old units, dealing with garages and workshops can all be avoided. This is as true for van contract hire as it is for car rental.

Car leasing on the other hand is much like rental only for longer periods and that means better terms for you.

Leasing your cars can mean that after the first year you should be able to get better terms on your monthly rental fees, the standard practice here in the UK is to request an initial payment to the value of the first three months followed by 35 standard monthly payments, for example. The mileage on these contracts is generally assumed to be 10,000mpa but you should be able to negotiate if your experience leads you to believe your vehicle usage will be different.

When you have to replace a van, a good method to consider is a van leasing deal. It could appear costly, but it is certainly a practical route to follow. The primary consideration when you buy or van leasing should not be money it should be the value that you derive. A van fresh from the factory, generally gives you the assurance that all parts work. A warranty covering all the maintenance cost for the full term is likely to be included in the contract agreement.

A commercial vehicle leasing deal does not require much financial expertise. If you have built some background knowledge, then you are in a better position to bargain for top deal. Depreciation is calculated on the estimated residual price of the vehicle when the van leasing period terminates. The difference has to be paid by the lessee. Once the price is settled, documents are completed and sent for approval. Your personal credit rating will have a huge impact on the success of the deal. Students and first-time lessees may find it difficult to get a lease deal, as there is no track record.

Monthly payments depend on a term called the money factor. It is a small number which is multiplied by two thousand four hundred to give the monthly interest payments. The best scenario would be getting interest payments on a lease deal which match those of a personal loan.

It is worth noting that repayments on a used vehicle would be lower than a new lease van on a monthly basis. Depreciation is high in the first year of purchase and is halved each successive year.

Leasing a van gives great satisfaction because you know that you are driving the latest mechanical technology. The vehicle will also have a higher resale value at the end of the term should you decide to sell up or trade it in for a new lease. New vans are easier to look after and are equipped with more fuel-effecient technology.

The most common question that both myself and my colleagues are asked is how to make the choice between leasing or renting a new van. What are the major benefits to taking out a lease, as opposed to a simple rental agreement?

The answer is quite simple. When you lease a van you can choose which one to take from the extensive range of familiar models that are available. You can choose what colour it will be, what options you want and what size and specification you require. As a customer, you would be spreading your payments monthly over an agreed period which is going to be cheaper than renting. This is because the finance company knows how much money they will be earning from customers because of the commitment the customer has made.

Because we have such a high turnover of vans, we can get the best possible prices, and pass them straight to the customer. This culminates in lower start up cost, helping to improve cash flow for the customer. Our customer also has the option to continue owning or sell the van at the finish of the van lease deal.

There is also an added bonus of being able to use your own logo on the van and also add extras such as interior racking and roof racks.

Alternatively, with rental you can pay your rental charge each month and have nothing to show for it at the end of the period. For me, it is the worst of all of the options on show, and has the least value for any business.

To find out more, see our ‘financed explained’ section on our website which covers topics such as commercial van leasing and large van leasing.

When it comes to understanding the various differences between leasing agreements, it can be quite demanding for the sharpest of minds. What are your best options? Would you be wiser enter into a straight rental agreement?

Hire purchase

When you take out a hire purchase agreement, you will be paying a deposit equivalent to 3 months of the overall rental in advance plus VAT. Repayment periods vary, but a typical one could be 36 months up to a maximum of 60 months. All of your monthly payments are exempt for VAT, and you can reclaim your initial charge on the deposit. Another favourable point is the offsetting of taxable profit which is a huge bonus to any small business. When the lease contract has finished, the van is yours and there are no more charges to pay.

Finance Lease

When you take out a finance lease agreement, you will be paying a deposit of 1 to 3 months of the overall rental in advance plus VAT. Similar to the hire purchase agreement, your repayments are usually between 36 and 60 months in total. If you are able to claim back the VAT on the deposit, you will only be able to do this on a quarterly basis. One appealing freature is if the van is sold or part-exchanged at the end of the term – 96% of the van value is retained by the lesse.

Contract Hire

Many aspects of this type of arrangement are the same as the finance lease, with the added bonus of a maintenance package. There is none of the hassle for the customer of having to sell the van when the lease term has finished. It is sometimes known as an Operating Lease. Most of the rules are the same as the other options above, including deposit cost, VAT recoverability etc. So long as you stay within your agreed mileage, you can fix your costs and retain budgetary control of your agreement.

Lease Purchase

Most of the details are the same as the finance lease agreement. Where cheap van leasing differs, is at the end – you sell the vehicle to a third party for a reasonable value and buy it back for £1. Forward an invoice to the finance company with a cheque for 5% of the sale. After writing down 100% of the cost of the deal, you are then able to keep the van.

Iveco Van Leasing Is just another of the many options that are available to choose from.

On 28 September 2009, the government announced plans for a further £100 million funding for the scrappage scheme. What it means is that the scheme will now be able to cover up to 400,000 vehicles.

The rules of the scheme will be unchanged except for the date of first registration in the UK, and apply only to the purchase of a new vehicle and does not extend to van leasing.

For the third month in row, during November, Citroen sold more vans under the government’s scrappage scheme than any other manufacturer.

The company sold 152 LCVs during November an impressive 26 per cent of the total number of LCVs sold through scrappage.

It sold 548 vans during September, October and November through the scrappage scheme – 25.7% of the total number.

There have been 825 registrations from Citroen under the scrappage scheme since it was launched in the spring.

Citroen’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager Robert Handyside said: “Many UK businesses, with older vehicles, have been only too willing to upgrade to a modern.”

Figures released in September named Citroen as the number one choice for new van buyers.

One in ten vans sold during the month was made by Citroen. There have been 2,876 registrations in all, with the split fairly equal between the Dispatch, Nemo and Relay van mode.

Find and contact you nearest dealer to see if they have joined the government’s vehicle discount scheme. You will be checked to see that the vehicle that you have and the one in which you wish to invest in, match the rules of the scheme. When you have agreed a sale, the dealer will take over the paperwork and coordinate the scrapping of your old vehicle.

Find out more information by seeing how we can help you organisation with our great commercial vehicle leasing offers. mercedes van leasing and Volkswagen van leasing are just some of the options out there to choose from.

Making sure you get a monthly payment that you can afford is an important factor for anyone wishing to lease a car. In order to make sure that you get a good price it is important to look around. Do not be swayed by the first deal that looks good. Searching around can ensure that you get a better monthly price. Do not go to one car lease company and assume that the deals they have are the best you are going to get. Your business is something that many different car lease companies will be fighting for so it is good to remember this. This can work in your favour and can mean that you can get much better deals. It is also important to note that the price you accept at the beginning of your lease will be the price you will pay for the length of the lease. You cannot change this once you have signed just because you have seen a better deal elsewhere.

The first place to begin your search is the internet. You can use the internet to compare the deals on offer from a number of different companies. You can check what offers they have without even having to leave your home or pick up the phone. You can secure better payment options by using the fact that there are other car lease companies willing to offer you a better deal. If you are aware of offers that other companies are giving you can haggle for a better price.

The main aim when you start looking for a car lease agreement is to get the best term for you. It will obviously be better if you can get a lower monthly payment as well as finding the perfect car for you and your needs.

If you really need to have a look at the different car leasing, having a look at all the different models available for selection is the best thing you can do. You never know, you may end up with kia van leasing or even fiat van leasing options.
